WHY IS IT A HEALTHY CHURCH TOUR?
Because Healthy Churches Change The World
When we talk about global missions, we often think of sending people out — but true mission begins within. At Africa Renewal Ministries, we believe that healthy local Churches are the launching pad for Gospel transformation both at home and around the world.
A healthy Church is more than a well-run Sunday service. It’s a community of believers marked by new life, spiritual growth, and the redemptive power of Jesus Christ. It’s a place where people are set free from addictions, where broken families are restored, and where disciples are made and sent. It’s where the Gospel doesn’t just stay in the building — it overflows into the streets, the city, the nation, and the world. AKA the ‘Great Commission’ in Matthew 28:18-20 and Mark 16:15-18.
That’s why we’re calling this a Healthy Church Tour. Because our mission isn’t just to raise awareness — it’s to stir REVIVAL. To inspire and equip the Australian church to become spiritually vibrant, missionally effective, and globally engaged. In Uganda, we’ve seen firsthand how a healthy church can spark transformation: children get sponsored, communities are built, and people encounter the love of Christ.
But none of it happens without the local church being strong, Spirit-filled, and rooted in truth.
This tour is about encouraging your church, school, or ministry to experience the same. We want to share stories, challenges, victories, and biblical principles that will encourage you to refocus on what matters most — the health of your people and the mission God has given you.
Because when churches are healthy… everything changes.

HEALTHY Churches Are:
Carrying the Message of Jesus to the Ends of the Earth
Healthy churches boldly proclaim the good news of Jesus — locally and globally. Evangelism isn’t an event, it’s a lifestyle. A healthy church equips and encourages every believer to share their faith and make disciples, understanding that the Great Commission is not optional — it’s the Church’s core mandate.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations… teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Spiritual Births & Salvations are the ‘norm’
Healthy churches are full of stories of salvation, restoration, and spiritual rebirth. Just like the early Church, the Gospel is lived and preached in such a way that whole households, families, and communities come to faith. These are churches where transformation is tangible and testimonies are common.
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household… he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his whole household.”
Raising Mature Followers Who Walk Like Jesus
Discipleship is more than just teaching; it’s walking alongside others, modeling faith, and cultivating spiritual maturity. Healthy churches don’t just fill seats — they develop disciples. They raise leaders, sharpen character, and equip every believer to grow into the image of Christ.

Breaking Chains & Restoring Wholeness Through Christ
The Gospel sets people free — from addiction, fear, shame, and sin. Healthy churches are places of healing, where the broken are restored and the oppressed are delivered through the power of Jesus. Liberation is not just symbolic — it’s real and visible in the lives of believers.
“He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives… to set at liberty those who are oppressed.”
Healthy Churches Don’t Just Grow — They Multiply
Where there is life, there is growth. Healthy churches thrive — not through hype, but through Holy Spirit-fueled transformation. As hearts are changed and lives renewed, people are drawn to the community of faith, and the church naturally grows in number and influence.
“And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
Serving the Needy, Healing the Broken, Blessing the City
The love of Christ in action transforms communities. Healthy churches don’t hide behind their walls — they serve, feed, visit, and bless. Like Jesus, they “go about doing good,” and like James wrote, their faith is alive through action.

“Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”
Empowered by His Presence to Fulfill God’s Mission
True health can’t be sustained without surrender. Healthy churches are not self-driven but Spirit-led. They seek God’s will, listen for His voice, and rely on His power to reach the lost and build His kingdom. Yielding to the Holy Spirit produces fruit, fuels mission, and keeps the Church alive.

At Gaba Community Church in Uganda, we’ve seen firsthand what happens when a local church becomes spiritually healthy, mission-minded, and deeply rooted in its community. From that foundation, ministries have flourished — schools, medical centres, leadership development, child sponsorship, and more.
